We believe candles can be healthy, functional, and beautiful. From our Founder's small beginnings making candles in her apartment kitchen, Candle Stork candles have only ever been made with nature's most precious elements. Our golden beeswax is sourced right down the road in gorgeous Northern Michigan, and we spent months searching for the highest quality organic and wild harvested pure essential oils to scent each of our candles. Always fragrance-free, and always created with healthy home air in mind. 

With a strong conviction that everyone is entitled to know what they're bringing into their homes, we take ingredient transparency very seriously. Candle Stork is the first to always require a full ingredient label on each of our candles, and we do this to create knowledgeable consumers, and to inspire others to follow suit.

What exactly makes up a Candle Stork candle? Only the simplest and purest ingredients. 

Beeswax

We only use raw golden beeswax from a local Northern Michigan farm, where the beekeepers have been trained in best apiary practices. Health of the hive is the top priority, and consequentially produces the highest quality beeswax possible for our candles. Our raw beeswax has a natural honey aroma, reminiscent of the hive, and releases negative ions which can trap pollutants like dust and pollen. This helps to neutralize the air in your home for a cleaner environment every time you light your candle. 

Coconut Oil

Our organic, pure-expeller pressed, and fair-trade coconut oil is the perfect creamy texture to hold our blends of essential oils. We tried unsuccessfully to have pure beeswax hold the necessary amounts of essential oils to create a strong smelling candle; so after lots of testing, we found coconut oil does the trick without any added toxins. This allows us to create a fragrant candle while helping to keep candle tops smooth and crack resistant.  

Pure Essential Oils

We source pure, cold pressed and steam distilled essential oils from an American supplier that requires thorough testing and documentation for purity and ethical practices at each of their farms and distilleries. We only use essential oils that have been GC/MS (gas chromatography mass spectrum) batch tested. This is the highest testing standard to verify the quality, potency, and safety of each oil. While many essential oils are only produced in specific regions of he world, we always choose to support American farms and organic or wild harvested oils whenever possible. Our aromatherapy-infused scents are carefully blended by us, to provide you with candles that not only smell incredible, but also have health benefits. 

An essential oil is a concentrated liquid extract derived from various parts of aromatic plants such as flowers, leaves, stems, and roots. These oils capture the plants natural scent and contain the essence of its beneficial compounds. 

Our naturally scented candles may be lighter in scent than conventionally made candles, but you'll be surprised by how much you (and your health) will enjoy the difference. 

According to the EPA, the level of pollutants inside the home can be hundreds of times higher than outside of it. While it might feel impossible to live completely toxin-free in our modern world, we still have the choice to lower those levels. Just by swapping one product in your home, you are creating a positive ripple effect for your health, your family and your future.
